I am on a serious crochet kick at the moment. Well theoretically I am, “technically” I have not started any crochet yet, but I have the tools! Crochet has recently become a little more appealing due to several factors. Firstly the wonderful Pom Pom Magazine. I just LOVE this magazine, despite the fact that I have not actually knitted anything out of it yet (very much to do with a lack of time – their patterns are gorgeous). This quarter’s issue included an amazing crochet scarf and I just fell in love with it (I have mentioned the pattern in the most recent episode of the podcast, Episode 60 – Guinea Pig Course). Falling in love with this scarf unfortunately lead to a little stash enhancement… 5 skeins of Quince and Co Puffin in Frost. It’s divine. This is a fairly major investment for a girl who really only knows the basics of crochet. Thankfully, one of my lovely work colleagues is a crochet goddess and she has offered to help me decipher the pattern, so I am brimming with confidence.

I have been enabled further through Instagram. I follow a nice chap called Tom (aka TokyoTombola) and he is great at crochet. He’s been crocheting snowflakes and they are just gorgeous. They would just look lovely on my Christmas tree next to all of my Merry Knitalong Christmas balls. So I caved in and acquired a book called 100 Snowflakes to Crochet: Make Your Own Snowdrift: To Give or For KeepsImage may be NSFW.

… I’ll get to that in another post!)
Watch this space for further crochet developments. If anyone has any top tips that they’d like to share it would be great to hear from you.
