Let me tell you about the pattern…
This pretty lace cowl was designed to use up approximately half a skein of luxury sock yarn (one sock’s worth) but it’s very easy to customise the fit and also adapt the pattern to different weights of yarn.
The scalloped edge of the cowl reminded me of waves crashing against the Hanois Lighthouse in St Peter Port, Guernsey. Check out my inspiration photo by Tim Har below.
This is a great beginner lace project because the vertical lines in the lace make it easy to keep track of where you are in the pattern.
The Hanois Cowl is designed to be worn short (folded in half with the straight top edge tucked in at the top as shown in the first photo). It also looks very nice worn “long” and slouchy; tuck the scalloped edges into your coat.
